Recovery is built through collaboration, and we are grateful for the continued partnership of our community organizations, first responders, healthcare providers, municipal leaders, law enforcement agencies, and dedicated ECO Recovery Coaches. Together, we continue working toward a shared goal of connecting individuals and families throughout Essex County with hope, treatment, and long-term recovery support.

RESOURCES AND SERVICES DATA JUNE 2026
Throughout June, ECO Recovery Coaches collaborated with local police departments, hospitals, treatment providers, behavioral health agencies, shelters, recovery centers, and numerous community partners to provide recovery-focused services throughout Essex County.
CIMS Follow-Ups: 45
During June, ECO Recovery Coaches completed 45 CIMS follow-ups. These referrals originate directly from our law enforcement partners following incidents involving substance use, mental health concerns, or other recovery-related needs.
While ECO receives referrals from many different sources, CIMS referrals remain an especially valuable opportunity for early intervention. By connecting with individuals shortly after a crisis or significant event, Recovery Coaches can provide timely support, reduce barriers to care, and help ensure individuals do not fall through the cracks during vulnerable moments.
New Individuals Engaged: 53
Recovery Coaches actively engaged with 53 new individuals during June through referrals from law enforcement, hospitals, partner agencies, community outreach efforts, and self-referrals.
Individuals Who Accepted Services: 41
Of those newly engaged during June, 41 individuals accepted recovery services. Services included recovery coaching, resource navigation, detox admissions, outpatient treatment referrals, transportation assistance, mental health services, and harm reduction support.
As always, these numbers do not reflect individuals who initially declined services but later re-engaged with ECO. Recovery often begins with relationship building, and many individuals reconnect weeks or even months after their initial outreach.
Active Individuals Supported: 115+
In addition to new engagements, ECO Recovery Coaches continued providing ongoing support to more than 115 active individuals who were already connected with services. Recovery coaching frequently extends beyond initial outreach and includes continued treatment coordination, housing support, recovery planning, benefits navigation, and long-term recovery support.
Treatment Referrals
During June, ECO coordinated referrals across multiple levels of care, including:
- Detox: 19
- Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS): 7
- Residential Treatment: 2
- Recovery Housing/Sober Living: 5
- Outpatient/MAT: 1
Connecting individuals with the most appropriate level of care remains one of ECO’s highest priorities and continues to require close collaboration with treatment providers throughout the Commonwealth.
Transportation
Transportation continues to present challenges for many individuals seeking treatment and recovery support. Although ECO’s transportation voucher program remains paused, Recovery Coaches continue working closely with community partners to identify transportation options whenever possible.

These partnerships continue to strengthen ECO’s ability to quickly connect individuals with treatment, recovery housing, behavioral healthcare, and ongoing community support.
EMERGING TRENDS & CHALLENGES
Recovery Coaches identified several notable trends throughout June.
Multiple coaches reported an increase in older adults seeking treatment and recovery support. Many of these individuals presented with co-occurring substance use disorders, physical health concerns, cognitive impairment, or memory-related challenges, making placement into appropriate levels of care increasingly complex.
Transportation also remained a recurring barrier for several individuals attempting to access treatment and behavioral health services.
These observations reinforce the need for continued collaboration among healthcare providers, behavioral health agencies, law enforcement, aging services, and recovery organizations to ensure individuals with complex needs are connected to appropriate care.
COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
Several organizations were recognized by Recovery Coaches for their continued partnership throughout June.
Recovery Centers of America (RCA), Pyramid Healthcare, and local Jail Diversion Clinicians were highlighted for their responsiveness and assistance connecting individuals to treatment and behavioral health services.
Recovery Coaches also recognized the important work being done by local police department clinicians, whose collaboration has helped individuals experiencing mental health crises access services even when transportation or other barriers might otherwise delay care.
CORE Peer Recovery Center and Action Shelter (both in Gloucester) also continue to provide valuable resources and support for individuals navigating recovery throughout Essex County.
RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT & INFRASTRUCTURE NEWS
ECO Recovery Coach Hours at CORE Recovery Center
During June, ECO continued expanding Recovery Coach availability through office hours at the CORE Peer Recovery Center in Gloucester. This partnership increases access to free recovery coaching, treatment navigation, resource referrals, and peer support for residents throughout Cape Ann while strengthening collaboration between ECO and CORE’s growing recovery community.
By embedding Recovery Coaches within an established recovery community center, ECO continues working to reduce barriers to care and ensure individuals can access support in a welcoming, recovery-focused environment.
