The Essex County Outreach (ECO) is a collaborative effort among the 34 police departments within Essex County and the Essex County Sheriff Department, as well as our multiple community partners to combat substance use disorders and mental health matters.
About
Essex County is home to over three-quarters of a million people, making it the third-most populous county in the state comprised of the following cities and towns: Amesbury, Andover, Beverly, Boxford, Danvers, Essex, Georgetown, Gloucester, Groveland, Hamilton, Haverhill, Ipswich, Lawrence, Lynn, Lynnfield, Manchester, Marblehead, Merrimac, Methuen, Middleton, Nahant, Newbury, Newburyport, North Andover, Peabody, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Salisbury, Saugus, Swampscott, Topsfield, Wenham, West Newbury. The Essex County Outreach is a collaborative effort involving all 34 police departments within Essex County, as well as the sheriff’s department, working with social service partners to assist with; substance use disorder (SUD), mental or behavioral health needs, high risk referrals, harm reduction strategies, along with resources and supports to families, loved ones and additional supports for impacted children and families, and supports for those that have lost a loved one due to substance use disorder.
